Why when they held a POA dues increase vote & it didn't pass a coupl. E of months ago, they wanted 11.00 increase in improved lots & 2.00 unimproved, are they holding another one Jan the 6th & just wanting to charge improved lots 13.00 & 0 for unimproved lots, if it's only for improve lots, only people with improved lots should be able to vote & when did you start having to sigh a vote, aren't they suppose to be anonymous. I'm sorry, but the POA salaries are out of line for a few top officials, but I guess when you can vote yourself raises & bonuses instead of the people being able to vote on it, that's what you get, seems like they are going to just keep changing things until they get what they want, so why waste the money acting like they're doing it fair & just start charging us. A lot of people who retired here think we are paying enough, Bella Vista was started as a retirement community, seems like it isn't any more, don't get me wrong I love living here, just thing we pay enough dues, you'll still have to buy a 30.00 card to be able to do anything. Seems like they are catering to out of stators moving in who can maybe afford it without any thoughts to the Arkansas people who have lived here the longest. Sorry my vote is going in the trash & maybe they won't get their 51% of votes, rant over.

Onward, there will be an open, November 14th, 6pm meeting at Riordan Hall. The POA board will vote the next week to finalize it.
The 'Absence Policy' that was brought up two months ago was dropped by the Rules and Regulations committee. It would have limited the number of meetings that a board member can miss including the GM meeting, Work Session, and regular meeting. The policy will stay as only affecting regular sessions. Action will only be taken if a POA board member misses 3 consecutive regular meetings or 4 total in a year.POA had filed claims to two insurance companies (Nationwide and Philadelphia Insurance), and both denied the request for the coverage and then a complaint was submitted against the companies. From then, the POA filed a cross complaint: Tom Fredericks, Blue Mountain Storage, Browns Tree Service, and BTS equipment. The west side Stump Dump will officially be closed for $326,000.Berksdale golf course will be closed until further notice.
Benton County Quorum Court recent news:County discusses courts facility and digital options to stream meetings. In a recent straw poll, 10 out of the 15 JP’s preferred option was a downtown alternative plan for a a courts facility. This would mean that the 3 courtrooms in the historic courthouse would still be used and the old jail area behind the courthouse would be demolished and replaced by a building with 4 courtrooms.
This would cost around $15 million. Barry Moehring. Stated this would be s 10 to 15 year plan. The current courthouse is 28,080 square feet and the alternative plan would add 38,000 square feet for courts. Two buildings used for court would be sold for a net of $2 million and the county could use $6 million from the reserve then $2 million donation from the Walton Family Foundation. The rest of the money could be financed in short term debt (around $5 million). The parking deck isn’t part of this plan. Nothing has been finalized, there are 4 other options that Judge Moehring presented. The JP’s discussed the possibility of live-streaming meetings through the internet.
Upfront cost would be $34,000 and a part time employee would be needed to run the system. The current audio recordings cost $700 per year. Bringing this idea to the capital budget for 2020 is what likely what will happen. In tonight’s city council work session, The council mainly discussed change orders concerning trail crossings and eliminating two tunnels, fireworks, playground equipment, removing meeting rules from city ordinances, trails, and possible City of Bella Vista water system.A few council members had concerns about the newest path of trail along Euston road, mainly the rock and how it's so close to the road.
Daniel from the Trailblazers said he will talk to Erin Rushing. The tr. Ails in the central part of the city will now have 9 tunnels and not 11. Linda Lloyd questioned how the city enforces fireworks when they are shot off outside of the July 3,4, and 5 time period.Linda Lloyd also wanted to bring up if the city council wants to make any decisions that would not align with the ACC rules such as playground equipment.
The ACC is limiting what you have in your front yard by January 2021. For example: Even if the city allowed playground equipment in the front yard, the ACC wouldn’t allow it.The city is still trying to decide if they want to go through with the water purchase from Centerton. (These are the lines along highway 279). The acquisition would cost around $300,000 and the start up costs would be around $170,000. The rates for the current customers along this water line, would go up because you cannot run a water department at a loss.
There will be a resolution on the table Monday, June 24th to not proceed with the purchase. This doesn’t mean anything will be decided, it could be voted down or tabled.
